Engineering Precision

Designed for creators,
built for performance.

Traditional phone webcam tools force cloud relays, driver installations, subscriptions, and battery-draining apps. FloatCam takes a fundamentally simpler approach.

Pure Local Wi-Fi WebRTC

Your video stream never touches the public internet. Signaling happens over local WebSockets, and media streams directly between your phone and computer over LAN peer-to-peer connection with hardware H.264 acceleration.

SUB-SECOND LATENCY · ZERO TELEMETRY

Session-Token Isolation

FloatCam generates an ephemeral 8-character cryptographic token per session. Other devices on the same Wi-Fi cannot hijack or listen to your stream.

CRYPTOGRAPHIC PRIVACY

Zero Mobile Apps Needed

Open your default camera app, scan the dashboard QR code, and tap Start. Works natively in iOS Safari and Android Chrome via standard HTML5 MediaDevices.

NO APP STORE INSTALLATION

Dynamic Port Selection

Never worry about "Port 9211 in use". FloatCam automatically probes and secures an unoccupied port between 9211 and 9299 on your computer.

COLLISION-FREE DAEMON

Integrated Camera Fallback

Phone battery running low? Switch instantly to your built-in Mac FaceTime or Windows integrated webcam with one click in the tray menu.

SEAMLESS CONTINGENCY
Geometric System

10 Precision Shapes.
Zero Edge Bleed.

Choose between circular portraits, modern iOS squircles, or geometric polygons. Every mask is cleanly rendered without ugly gradient halos or blurry shadow leaks.

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

FloatCam streams video directly between your smartphone and computer across your local wireless network using WebRTC peer-to-peer data channels. Because the video packets never leave your router or travel to external cloud relays, latency is typically under 150 milliseconds.
No. FloatCam runs an internal lightweight HTTPS signaling server on your computer. When you scan the QR code with your phone camera, it opens a responsive WebRTC web application directly in Safari or Chrome without installing anything from the App Store or Google Play.
Modern browsers require HTTPS to access camera hardware. FloatCam automatically generates a self-signed TLS certificate locally on your machine for your local IP address. Tapping "Show Details → Visit Website" on Safari or "Advanced → Proceed" on Chrome enables the camera securely on your private network.
No. In FloatCam V3, an 8-hex session token is generated randomly on every application start and embedded directly in the QR code. Any connection attempt lacking this valid token is immediately terminated at the socket layer.
Click and drag anywhere inside the camera window to reposition it on your desktop. Hover near the bottom-right corner to reveal the resize handle, or use the corner-snapping buttons inside the FloatCam dashboard.
